South Bay Food Crawl Part 2 – Maye's Desserts & Bistro
January 4, 2012 § 6 Comments
When CC mentioned that there was an empanadas bakery just a few doors down from TJ Oyster House, it seemed like a good detour to pop in to see what they had.
Here’s a quick look at their menu but check out their website for even more items.
The place isn’t very big. There’s a few cases on the side that holds the daily savory empanada offerings. There’s another case on the opposite side with the sweets (not pictured).
Since we were just starting out, we only got a couple of the savory empanadas to share. While we waited for our order to be heated, the gal working there offered us some samples: Pork Mole and Breakfast. They were both very tasty.
Here are the two we ordered: Hawaiian Short Rib and Philly Cheese Steak.
Here’s a shot of the Hawaiian Short Ribs, look at all that meat! And the crust was nice and flaky.
This one, the Philly Cheese Steak, was my favorite. I loved the flavor of the steak and all that gooey melted cheese! It’s a good thing we didn’t order more since these were quite filling.
